A sports program to build confidence and team spirit

Through the “Rise to the Challenge” initiative, young participants are immersed in a sports-oriented experience designed to foster self-improvement.

Supported by mentors and former beneficiaries of ACAY, they are encouraged to reflect on their personal journeys. In this supportive environment, they gain a better understanding of their actions, achievements and the obstacles they have faced.

Far more than just a development tool, sport helps restore self-confidence and encourages each participant to push beyond their own limits. Through this collective effort, young people benefit from a powerful source of motivation that helps them overcome challenges, strengthen their sense of solidarity and actively build their professional future.

Through its support programs, initiatives and workshops, ACAY helps many young people rebuild their lives after release from detention.

The results speak for themselves: 83% of the young people supported by the organization achieve academic and/or professional success.

At the heart of this approach, sport plays a crucial role. Integrated into every support pathway, it helps create a trusting relationship between each young person and their coach. These moments provide opportunities for open discussions about challenges faced, past experiences and future ambitions.

In 2025, ACAY conducted 92 individual coaching sessions with 20 young people and organized 32 team-building sports days.

More than just an association, ACAY has become a genuine driver of social and professional integration for vulnerable young people.

This success also relies on the invaluable commitment of mentors and former beneficiaries who are now fully reintegrated into society and, in turn, share their experience and support with others.
