After junior World Silver, Ambre and Samuel set their sights on a new season

Ambre Perrier Gianesini and Samuel Blanc Klaperman both skate for the Club des Sports de Glace de Lyon. Having first stepped onto the ice in 2015 and 2012 respectively, they have skated together since June 2021 and train under a renowned coaching team that includes former World Ice Dance Champion Olivier Schoenfelder.

Their rise has been impressive. In 2024, they claimed their first major international title by becoming Winter Youth Olympic Games champions in Gangwon, South Korea.

The 2024-2025 season marked another milestone, with their first medals on the Junior Grand Prix circuit, including a silver medal in Wuxi, China. Despite preparation being disrupted by an injury sustained by Ambre just weeks before the championships, they finished the season among the Top 10 junior teams in the world.

The following season brought further success. Consistent throughout the year, they accumulated international podium finishes, won silver at the Junior Grand Prix Final in Nagoya, claimed victory at the Bavarian Open, and became French Junior Champions.

The highlight came at the 2026 World Junior Championships in Tallinn, where they won the silver medal. This outstanding performance saw them climb from 10th to 2nd in the world rankings within a single year and achieve career-best scores.

This medal carries special significance: it is the first French medal in ice dance at the World Junior Championships since Gabriella Papadakis and Guillaume Cizeron achieved the feat in 2013.

A legacy the duo proudly embraces. Inspired by iconic teams such as Papadakis/Cizeron and Tessa Virtue & Scott Moir, Ambre and Samuel represent the new generation of French ice dance. Their steady progression and impressive results have established them among the sport’s brightest young prospects.

The season is only just beginning. The next stages will take Ambre and Samuel to Georgia and then Slovenia, where they will attempt to secure their place in the Junior Grand Prix Final in Chongqing.
